The Spatula Periosteal Chisel is a surgical instrument used in maxillofacial surgery to separate bone from tissue. The chisel is marked at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 mm and has different tip widths. The chisel is used to create an osteotomy - a cut in the bone - and is then inserted into the space between the periosteum (the thin layer of tissue that covers the bone) and the bone itself.
